Leadership 

Doug Harvey is CEO of the DLH Group and owner of Maxim Truck & Trailer. Doug founded Maxim in 1981 in Winnipeg, MB. That year, as International Harvester began privatizing its dealerships, Doug seized the opportunity to become a business owner by buying into his first truck dealership in Winnipeg. Today, Doug’s enterprises have grown to include companies in Retail & Distribution, Manufacturing and Land Development. In total, Doug’s businesses employ 800 people across Canada. Doug is active in the community and encourages all his employees to do the same. He serves on numerous boards and industry committees. Doug and his partner Jan are proud life-long Winnipeggers whose three children and six grandchildren all work, play and reside in Winnipeg. In 2022, Doug Harvey was awarded the Order of Manitoba. The Order of Manitoba is the province’s highest honour. It recognizes Manitobans who have demonstrated excellence and achievement, thereby enriching the social, cultural or economic well-being of the province and its residents. Also in 2022, Doug was inducted into the Manitoba Business Hall of Fame – acknowledging the spirit of the greatest leaders and mentors in the province of Manitoba. In 2016, Doug appointed Troy Hamilton as President of Maxim Truck & Trailer. Troy currently runs the day-to-day operations of the company.

Troy joined Maxim in 1996. Prior to joining Maxim, Troy worked in Financial Services. He was elevated to the role of President in 2016 and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company. Throughout his 26+ years at Maxim, Troy has held numerous roles in Sales and Finance giving him a clear understanding of the company’s operations. Troy’s leadership style empowers his team members to strive to maximize accountability and performance. The goal is to achieve a collaborative approach to reaching new levels of success and “be better today than we were yesterday”.

Kyle is an experienced executive, with a strong technical background, that joined Maxim in 2013 as the Vice President of Service. His responsibilities in this role included leadership of all truck and trailer service operations in Maxim’s network as well as the efficient operation and maintenance of Maxim’s lease and rental fleet. In 2017, Kyle’s portfolio was expanded to include the supervision of all Maxim’s General Managers as well as the stewardship of Maxim’s network of facilities across the country. Prior to joining Maxim, Kyle spent six years as an Engineering Technician in the Canadian Armed Forces followed by nearly ten years in roles of increasing responsibility at VIA Rail Canada. Along with his professional experiences, Kyle holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Manitoba.

Michael is a Chartered Professional Accountant who joined Maxim in 2013. Prior to joining Maxim, Michael spent 14 years in public and private accounting practice. Michael’s role has expanded through the years, and today he is responsible for all of DLH Group’s Accounting, Finance, Procurement, IT and HR functions. The DLH Group includes Maxim and other companies owned by Doug Harvey.

Steve joined Maxim in 2004 at the Parts Order desk and moved up to Parts Manager within a year. He was promoted to Vice President of Parts in 2011. Steve is responsible for all Parts operations including purchasing, warehousing and sales across Maxim network of dealerships. Prior to joining Maxim, Steve held various roles at Canadian Tire, FGI, Traction and Stemco including inside and outside sales positions. Steve has a combined 36 years of experience in the parts industry.

Ryan joined Maxim in 2016. Ryan is responsible for the sales teams for all new and used truck and trailer sales as well as all leasing and rental sales at Maxim. Prior to joining Maxim, Ryan held a National Management position at Rona Inc, and Toyota Canada at both the dealer and national level. Ryan has over 20 years experience in sales and over 16 years in the automotive and trucking industry.
