Junior Accountant

Maxim is currently seeking a Junior Accountant for our Winnipeg Brookside location. The successful candidate will assist in providing accurate monthly financial reporting on a timely basis for Maxim Truck & Trailer branches.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Reconciles bank statements daily/monthly
• Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements
• Sets up, formulates, reconciles and disposes notes payable for all rentals and leases branches
• Applies financing contract payments
• Processes statutory GST, PST, EHC, tire tax remittances
• Assist in the preparation of the year-end Financial Statements
• Reconcile miscellaneous AR
• Other duties as required

Ideal Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

· Accounting or Business Administration related education

· 3+ years of related accounting experience

· Experience with database management and running reports

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail
• Organized, sets priorities, meets deadlines
• Extensive knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel
• Ability to learn in-house business system
• Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
