Maxim Truck & Trailer Owner & Team Raise Over $1.8 Million to Fight Cancer

 

The 2026 Challenge for Life by CancerCare Manitoba Foundation held on Saturday June 13, 2026 achieved a record-breaking year, raising over $3 million with the support of 1,200 participants and 7,700 donors. All funds remain in Manitoba to support cancer research, patient programs, and early detection.

Doug Harvey, Owner of Maxim Truck & Trailer, raised over $1.7 million, with his Team of “Walkers & Talkers” led by Jan Shute raising another $100,000. Doug, Jan and their team total of over $1.8 million propelled this year’s Challenge for Life to their record setting fund raising amount.

In addition, Maxim Truck & Trailer had 20 volunteers who donated their time on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and donated nine delivery trucks that managed and stocked all the check stops for the walkers participating in the event. The Maxim volunteer team led by Steve Young included Maili Young, Gary Romijn & family, Keith Veinot & family, Christina Artus, Bradley Ezekiel, Glenn Brenner, Herb Penner, Will & Dylan Dunbar, Jeff Knapp, Ken Buchanen among others.
