Career Training

Apprenticeship training, governed by provincial apprenticeship boards, is quality training offered at a low cost over short periods of time away from work, leading to certification as a journey-person.

Maxim offers competitive pay rates and overtime wages for technicians. We also provide pay increases each time an apprentice reaches a new level of skill.

Our trades offer the right kind of challenge - they are highly technical, involve math and sciences, and are constantly evolving. A trade career can even lead to supervision, management, customer service, sales, or administration.

Trades people in Canada can write a 'Red Seal' exam and earn an Interprovincial Standards Red Seal on their journeyman certificate. This recognizes their certification in most Canadian provinces and territories - giving you the opportunity to move between Maxim's 15 locations across Canada.

Apprenticeship combines practical on-the-job experience with employer and in-school technical training. For more information, click on one of the provinces on the map below.

We respect the abilities of all technicians, regardless of where or how they learned their skills; however, we actively encourage apprenticeship training for our more junior technicians.
